Which form do I use?
From Programapedia
Step 2 – Which form do I use? This could be the Add Company, Add Library, Add Presenter, Add Program form or could be more than one.
Note: The type of information you are contributing to Programapedia determines which forms to complete. In most cases you will be adding the details of a specific presenter and the program(s) they provided to your library. If the presenter you are adding is serving as a representative of a larger organization or company, then an Add Company form can be completed as well as an Add Presenter Form. If you are unsure which form is the most appropriate, then it is acceptable to fill out each of those forms for that individual. If won’t hurt anything. Another question you can ask yourself that might help you make your decision is whether or not adding your presenter as a Company would add value to the promotion of that presenter. If you look at the Add Presenter and Add Company forms, they ask different types of things. After reviewing the forms, it might be clearer which form is most appropriate. Only use the Add Program form for new programs. If a program you want to enter already exists in Programapedia add your experience with that program to the existing page directly by editing the wiki page. You should use the Add Library form if your library’s profile has not been added to Programapedia. Please refer to Libraries on the Navigation Bar to see if your library’s profile has already been added.
In our example, we could call the Add Library form from the Special Pages or For Authors link, or we could click on the (Add Library) link from within a page showing the yet-to-be-created internal wiki page “LaSalle Public Library.” Using the later approach, it is best to copy the text and paste it into the form, which keeps the name (and thus the link) consistent and correct.
- Copy text (LaSalle Public Library)
- Click (Add Library) link
- Paste copied text, or type in the Library name
Enter as much detail as possible. The only required information is the Library name, however, the more complete the form, the more robust the wiki page will be. Once the page is created using the data entry form, all future edits will be made directly using wiki text editing features.
Remember: The purpose of Programapedia is to share library programming information, so the library page within Programapedia should include information regarding facilities for programs, resources and web links related to programming promotion and calendar of events, and the contact people at the library responsible for managing programs and presenters.
